Hi Mark, thanks for reading despite having a different opinion.

First off, these aren’t my research and my graphs, these are the result of years of work by scientists all over the world. I’ve provided the sources so you can visit those sites to find out more. Scientists have found evidence connecting carbon emission to rising global temperatures.

Through this story, I’d hoped to explain the carbon cycle so that we understand why we don’t have the capacity to deal with the excess carbon dioxide we produce that ends up trapping heat in the atmosphere.

Even if renewable energy cannot replace fossil fuel entirely, moving dependence away from fossil fuel helps to reduce carbon emission. Besides, fossil fuel stores don’t last forever.

Carbon emission varies among countries in different stages of development, but many of the products produced by developing countries (like India and China) are consumed by developed nations.

Unfortunately, I can’t agree that it’s not an alarming situation. We do have a crisis on our hands. As you’ve suggested, it may be a good idea to start moving people inland. Coastal evacuation will become a more regular occurrence in the future.

But dealing with the consequences without dealing with the problem just wouldn’t be enough.
