I’ve often wonder about marriages that last a long time, and the love that’s often sung in songs and depicted in silly romance movies.

Is it possible to be head-over-heels in love for decades? I don’t think it is. I think that our idea of love has been tainted by popular culture and that idea is unattainable because it’s unrealistic.

Maybe there’s nothing wrong with how you’re feeling. Maybe that’s how long-term love is — being separate together. But I can’t say for sure because I don’t have that experience yet. I hope you’ll find some sparks in the ordinary life.
